About Taper
Taper is a workout and body-composition tracker for lifters who want a straight answer to one question: is what I'm doing actually working? Most trackers just store your numbers. Taper reads your bodyweight, your waist, and your lifts together and tells you whether your bulk is building muscle or fat, and whether your cut is costing you strength.
Why we built it
The scale can't tell muscle from fat, and a workout log can't tell you if your training is paying off. Lifters end up guessing. Taper connects the three signals that actually matter — weight, waist, and strength — and grades your progress from your own data, so you can adjust with evidence instead of vibes.
What Taper does
- Body-composition verdict — a clear read on whether you're building muscle, losing fat, or spinning your wheels.
- Per-muscle progression — see which muscles are growing and which are stalling, on a live body map.
- Fast, honest logging — supersets, rest timers, auto-progression, and fair PR comparisons.
- Yours and private — local-first, no account required, with optional iCloud or Google Drive sync and free export.
Who makes it
Taper is built and operated by Taper Physiques LLC, a US company. We're a small, independent team focused on doing one thing well: giving lifters an honest read on their progress. We don't sell your data — the app is local-first by design.
